I am pleased to be here today in order to hand over relief hampers for 1000 families donated by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) to the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DDMU) of the Zambian Presidency.

This donation is a contribution to the efforts exerted in order to assist the families affected by the floods this year. This is timely for us, since sharing and assisting one another are the values highlighting the traditions of the month of Ramadan.

On this occasion, I would like to commend the work undertaken by the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DDMU) in cooperation with its international partners. We are pleased to join those efforts and we aim to continue working together.

TİKA, the agency responsible for implementing and coordinating Türkiye’s development cooperation policy, is supporting Zambia especially in terms of capacity and institution building in the fields of health, agriculture, tourism and others since early 2000s. TİKA will -on its part- continue to support Zambia’s development agenda.
