No: 68, 21 March 2019, Press Release Regarding the OIC Emergency Open-Ended Executive Committee Ministerial Meeting on the Terrorist Attack Against Two Mosques in New Zealand and on Countering Hatred and Intolerance Against Muslims

Turkey, as the OIC Summit Chair, has called upon holding an emergency meeting for discussing the increasing violence based on Islamophobia, racism and xenophobia, in particular the terrorist attack targeted two mosques in New Zealand on 15 March 2019.

Within this framework, the OIC Open Ended Executive Committee Emergency Ministerial Meeting will be held on 22 March 2019 in Istanbul, chaired by H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey. Representatives from international organizations such as the UN, EU and OSCE are also invited to the meeting.
