The 36th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) will be held on 29 June 2017, in Istanbul.

The Meeting which will be chaired by Ambassador Ahmet Yıldız, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, will be attended by the Ministers/Heads of Delegations of BSEC Member States and also by the representatives of the BSEC Related Bodies, Observers and Sectoral Dialogue Partners.

During the Meeting, exchange of views will take place on issues regarding the latest developments in the region as well as the ways and means to strengthen the Organization to better respond to these challenges. The meeting will conclude with a ceremony whereby Turkey will hand over the Chairmanship-in-Office of BSEC to Ukraine.

Turkey has undertaken the Chairmanship-in-Office of BSEC in the first half of 2017. During its Chairmanship, Turkey’s main theme has been “Strengthening Partnership for Sustainable Development”. Besides the 25th Anniversary Summit of BSEC, held on 22 May 2017 in Istanbul, the meeting of the BSEC Ministers of Economy (Istanbul, 11 May 2017) and the BSEC Ministers of Agriculture (İstanbul, 16-17 May 2017) constituted some of the highlights of the calendar of events of the Turkish Chairmanship.
